Ice Hockey Classic 2020

StopConcussions Foundation and CONNECTED, a mental health initiative needs your support. As with many charities at this time, the challenges presented by COVID-19 and the need to support such vital institutions, beginning with our first-line responders and organizations such as black lives matter, have created a vacuum of deficit for many others. We, like many others, are also feeling these effects. All of our publicly attended events for 2020 have been cancelled or put on hold.  The Ice Hockey Classic is no exception, a Worldwide leading event between professional hockey players from Canada and the USA, was created to showcase and promote the game of hockey over 9 years ago.  The Ice Hockey Classic has never been just a hockey game, it is also a platform to raise awareness for mental health and concussions. The Ice Hockey Classic has been a staple for over a decade hosting successful exhibition series in Amsterdam, Sheffield, England, Australia and New Zealand.  Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the Ice Hockey Classic will not be able to go on as planned this year Down Under; however, we have found a way to showcase the game virtually here in Toronto.

It has been a challenging year for so many.  We believe a fun, exciting and purposeful event will be a welcome fundraiser to end 2020 with a positive statement. We need to show the World that our hockey family cares. We want everyone around the World to know that they are not alone and that we are all in this together!

Get ready as we host the virtual Canadian version of the Ice Hockey Classic, which will be held on December 12, 2020 at Paramount Ice Centre. It will be professionally streamed online for all the fans around the globe to cheer on their favourite team, with the intention of raising awareness and funds for our causes which include; StopConcussions Foundation, CONNECTED, a mental health initiative, Shoot for a Cure, as well as a few other worthy causes.

There are many ways you can support the game such as;

  • make a donation to watch the game
  • buy a jersey off a player’s back
  • bid on NHL autographed jerseys, pucks, sticks or photos

Thank you so much for your support in these unprecedented times and stay tuned for more details.
